Event Description:
If you’re looking for a doggone good time, join the race to help homeless pets at the Humane Society of Jefferson County’s 5th Annual Furry Friends 5K Run/Walk. This family-and dog-friendly event takes place at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, at the Jefferson County Fair Park. 
 
Hundreds of human participants and their canine companions have taken part in the FF5K. It offers the community a fun and healthy event that gets bigger and better every year. In addition to the race, the day includes a canine lure course, bobbing for tennis balls, face painting, a 50/50 raffle, concessions, and many area vendors. Good Time Music Service will provide tunes to get everyone pumped up before and during the race, with live music by the Belle Weather for all to enjoy post-race.
The HSJC is pleased to welcome Joal Derse Dauer, as this year’s Furry Friends 5K Guest of Honor.  Joal is the author of “Saving Sadie, How a Dog that No One Wanted Inspired the World”. She will be joined by her dog Sadie and will be sharing their inspirational story with those in attendance.  To learn more about Sadie’s journey, visit www.savingsadie.com  
 
There is still plenty of time to register.  Stop by the shelter to fill out a registration form, or visit www.hsjc-wis.com and follow the links to register on-line. Participants are encouraged to register before May 8 to be guaranteed a FF5K t-shirt.  All those who register will receive an official FF5K medal along with a race bag filled with goodies from our generous sponsors.
