KAREN JOHNSON started performing at the Cafe’ Carpe in 1998. After retiring early from teaching 4th grade, she treasures spending time with her golf-crazed husband, visiting with her two grown boys and wonderful new daughter-in law, taking care of her two cats, gardening, feeding her fine-feathered friends, and finding every excuse possible to get outside and enjoy nature.

 

Karen will share her song renditions of  her favorite artists which include Joan Baez, Nanci Griffith, Alison Krauss, Linda Ronstadt, Mary Chapin-Carpenter, and Trisha Yearwood…just to name a few.  Riding along with her dad in his old chevy truck while listening to country radio sparked her passion for old country tunes of which a few find their way onto her song list as well.
