Fort Atkinson, WI: The Badger Group (Badger Press, Inc.) recently added two new digital presses in an on-going effort to expand and upgrade their digital printing capabilities. Expanding the digital printing department will allow the company to respond to increasing customer requests for digital printing without increasing the amount of time needed for production.
 
According to Bob Clampit, manager of the digital department, “Digital presses offer the ability to print extremely personalized pieces with fast turnaround times. For that reason, digital printing has become a larger part of our business.” Clampit says that projects often begin on the sheet-fed presses to print the static elements and finish on the digital presses to add personalization, such as an address or personalized offer. “When we use a combination of print technology, we can produce high-quality pieces at lower costs and our customers like that.”
The need for new equipment is a result of changing customer demand and overall business growth. “With the increased demand for personalized marketing and our recent tuck-in of Tuttle Lithography, our digital production continues to grow,” says Sally O’Brien, President/Owner of the Badger Group. “New equipment will help us meet that demand.”
 
While sheet-fed and web printing continues to be a focus of the company, O’Brien says that having a robust digital printing department is key to growth in the current business environment.
