Verlo Mattress Consolidation

September 27, 2018

Verlo Mattress franchise owner Adel Salameh plans to combine the operations of his Watertown and Fort Atkinson stores at the newly renovated Fort Atkinson location at the end of October.

Salameh said all employees of the Watertown store, located at 1690 S. Church St., have accepted positions at the Fort Atkinson store. The Watertown store opened in 2007.

The Fort Atkinson location, at 201 N. Main St., reopened in June following a renovation of the historic “Creamery Building” in the city’s downtown. Salameh purchased the building in 2015 and completed an $8 million restoration and modernization of the five-story landmark, which local officials see as a catalyst for revitalizing downtown Fort Atkinson.

Constructed in 1920 at the corner of North Main Street and West Sherman Avenue, the building served as Verlo Mattress’ headquarters from 2006 until the company moved its headquarters to Milwaukee in 2013.

The Fort Atkinson location features the newest Verlo store concept designed to elevate the mattress shopping experience. Salameh said that some of the store’s highlights include a no-pressure sales environment, an easy-to-navigate showroom and a relaxing hospitality area.

“We are committed to serving Jefferson County and western Waukesha County with our new, state-of-the-art store,” said Salameh. “We believe we can continue to offer our guests the best possible mattress and sleep solution shopping experience the industry has to offer from our Fort Atkinson location.”

Founded in 1958 in Fort Atkinson by two men who named the company for their wives (Verna and Lois), Verlo Mattress has 23 locations in Wisconsin and 14 more in Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri. Verlo offers mattresses, pillows and other products that help provide a restful night of sleep.
